El Paso International Airport is the nearest major airport commonly used for Las Cruces. The road transfer crosses state lines and reaches the city from the south on I-10. Once in Las Cruces, I-25 points north, Dripping Springs Road runs toward the mountain front, and US-70 climbs over San Augustin Pass.
I-10 from east or west
I-10 connects El Paso and southern Arizona through Las Cruces. The I-25 junction and local exits can become busy around commute and university-event periods.

Downtown, New Mexico State University (NMSU), and Mesilla can be reached by local transportation, but the Organ Mountains and White Sands require a reliable ride and independent return. Rideshare availability should not be assumed at remote trailheads or the national park. Fill fuel, carry water, and download directions before crossing the pass.
